Militants of the dreaded Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh (JMJB) in the name of resisting outlaws were only engaged in political persecution, said Taskforce against Torture (TFT).TFT formed by a human rights organisation Bangladesh Rehabilitation Centre for Trauma Victims (BRCT) in a press conference here on Friday launched the report published on the occasion of the United Nations announced International Day for the Oppressed. Rajshahi TFT coordinator Zahangir Alam Akas read out the investigative report that said JMJB left at least 12 people killed, 45 mimed and over 300 injured during its two-month long so-called vigilantism against outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) in the northwestern region since April 1. Terming the JMJB operations 'state run oppression', the report said that those who under the banner of PBCP committed murders, extortion and many other crimes in the past, joined JMJB to resist political opponents.
