June 28, 2004       Star City Save Buriganga Chemical waste from tanneries in Hazaribagh being siphoned to Buriganga from the temporary dumping ground as monsoon rainwater overflows the city water bodies. According to the environment department, up to 40,000 tonnes of tannery waste flows untreated into the Buriganga a day.
