Biman food Poisons 50 passengers

At least 50 passengers of a Dhaka-bound flight of Bangladesh Biman yesterday were poisoned by the food catered to them on board.

Biman Flight BG-036 took off from Jeddah in the morning with 264 passengers, most of whom fell sick after having the food served by Biman Catering Service. Many passengers started to vomit, prompting the flight crew to alert the ground and provide first aids.

Armed with ambulances, wheelchairs and doctors, the ground staff at Zia International Airport (ZIA) received the flight and its sick passengers.

The aircraft touched down at 11:45am. The passengers received treatment, before coming out of the airport.

A four-member team was formed headed by Biman Catering Service Deputy General Manager Jahurul Hoque to investigate the incident.
