Seven persons were charge sheeted on Wednesday in connection with killing of former Awami League (AL) member of parliament (MP) Mamtaz Uddin on June 6 in 2003.

The charge-sheeted persons are BNP leader Taiful Islam TIpu, Aslam, Ainul, Sujan, Mithu, Firoz and AL leader Abdur Rashid.

Before the Judicial investigation, the criminal investigation department (CID) had submitted charge sheets twice. But Mamtaz's brother advocate Abul Kalam Azad prayed for a judicial investigation. After hearing of the petition, judge ordered for judicial investigation within one month.
