The measure has been taken to help the post-flood rehabilitation operation as most parts of the country are now affected by a severe flood.

The additional amount of agri-loans will be sanctioned for planted aman crop, rabi crops, goat and cattle rearing, fish cultivation and social forestation, says a press release.

Disbursement of the loan will start from the rural branches of Sonali Bank immediately after recession of floodwater.

The largest nationalised commercial bank has taken up a massive rehabilitation programme for crop production and other related productive activities following instruction from Finance Minister M Saifur Rahman.
