They allegedly abducted a vegetable trader from Savar Bazar in the early morning on Monday.

On information, police arrested Mahbubur Rahman, 21, and Mahfuz, 19, from in front of the diary farm gate when they went there at 10:30pm to receive Tk 50,000 in ransom for the release of the trader.

Police also raided a room of Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall and arrested two other abductors identified as Parvez, 19, and Azgar Ali, 32, at around 11:00pm.

The room belonged to Mahfuzur Rahman Pannu, an activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League.

Later, the abductors freed the trader Mostofa at around 4:00am.

Police also arrested Hakim, Sabuj and Golam Mostofa from different places of Savar suspecting their involvement in the abduction.

A case was filed with Savar Police Station.
