Mostak Hossain, 26, an employee of a local video-games shop, was passing through a lane at Block- D, when a gang of three held him against the wall of a house and cut the throat at around 11:15am.

Locals rushed Mostak with his half-slit throat to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the doctors declared him dead at 12.00 noon.

"We neither know the reason behind the killing nor suspect anyone for the incident," victim's younger brother Moktar Hossain told the reporters at the DMCH.

Police also could not ascertain the reason for the murder till 7:00pm.
