Was it destined?
5 sisters are now sisters-in-law

They were five sisters in Manikganj who became sisters-in-law following marriages with five brothers in Bhangura, Pabna. Many in the areas wonder whether it was destined.

Narendra Nath Roy is the father of the sisters and Tarapada Karmaker is the father of the brothers.

It was in 1977 when Narendar Nath solemnised the marriage of his eldest daughter Sadhana Rani Roy with Bishwanath Karmaker, son of Tarapada Karmaker.

Sadhana won the hearts of her in-laws with her good nature and caring attitude. It was not too late when she became the favourite 'bahu' of the house.

Meanwhile, Tarapada's second son Bimal Chandra Roy got a job in Janata Bank. He was looking for a working woman. But in those days it was not so easy to find a bride according to one's choice. Miraculously, Sadhana's third sister Radha Rani also got a job in the same bank. Biswanath eagerly gave a marriage proposal to his father-in-law. He accepted it gladly.

In 1981, Bimal Chandra Roy was wedded to Radha Rani.

A few years later, in 1984, Tarapada was diagnosed with blood cancer. He was admitted to PG Hospital in the capital city. He did not have much time to live. In such an emotional situation, Narendra asked Tarapada whether he would agree to accept his two other daughters, Sandha Rani and Anjali Rani as his daughters-in-law for his younger sons, Nirmal Kumar and Manik Lal. Tarapada had no objection. The two young girls and young men were married in 1985.

But Tarapada's youngest son Sujit and Naren's youngest daughter Munni were yet to be married. In 1996, Manik Lal proposed Sujit's marriage with Munni. This was accepted and they were married off with gaiety.

The five couples now live in peace with their children.
