Demand for daily Dhaka-Barisal flight

A human chain and a rally were formed in front of the Biman office in the city on Thursday demanding daily Biman flight in its Barisal-Dhaka route.

Barisal Nagorik Samaj organised the programmes following a rumor in the city that Biman flights would be slashed to once a week from twice a week now or could be closed.

The rally was addressed by representatives of various professional groups. They included businessman Abul Kalam Shahin; bankers Abdul Halim and Abdur Rahman; telecommunication official, Abdur Jabbar; doctors Altaf Uddin and Mizanur Rahman and teacher Shamsuddin Khan.

After the programmes, Nagorik Samaj handed over a memorandum to Biman's Regional Manger at his office for daily flight to and from Dhaka and connecting flights to Jessore and Chittagong.
