Non-govt pry teachers' strike postponed

Bangladesh Non-government Primary Teachers' Association yesterday postponed its on-going non-stop strike in view of the devastating floods.

Leaders of the Association at a press briefing at its office here said the strike was postponed as 12,000 primary schools have gone under the floodwaters.

It also withdrew the comments made by its leaders at a meeting at the Central Shaheed Minar on July 25 about advisor to the Prime Minister for the Primary and Mass Education Prof Jahanara Begum.
