Standard Chartered donates Tk10 lakh
Standard Chartered Bank, Bangladesh donated Tk10 lakh to Care Bangladesh for distribution of food and medicine amongst the flood victims, says a press release. The donation is a part of Standard Chartered's several initiatives to help the flood affected people. SAA Masrur, acting Chief Executive Officer, Bangladesh of Standard Chartered Bank handed over a cheque for the amount to Hasan Mazumdar, acting Country Director of Care, Bangladesh at the Care head office. Standard Chartered Bank is going to work with Oxfam, Care and other partners to spend over Tk 1 crore for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims. The employees of the bank donated their two days' salary and collected used clothes for distribution among the flood victims. The Bank has also organised volunteers from its employees to participate in relief activities. The employees of its Sylhet branch distributed foodgrains and clothes among 200 families.
