Zakir Hossain Litu is the number one accused in the sensational Jubo Dal leader Jahangir Shahin Murder Case.

Zakir, a listed terror of Sylhet, had been absconding since the murder about a year ago, said a police official.

His accomplice Enamul Islam Fakhrul is also wanted in different cases.

The arrest followed when a police sub-inspector asked two motor cyclists for a halt at the approach of Shahjalal Bridge at about 6:00am.

To avoid the police, Zakir suddenly opened fire at them and jumped into the river leaving behind his motorbike. He managed to swim ashore at about one kilometer away from where the police caught him.

Police also arrested Enamul.

Among the 10 chargesheeted accused, six have been so far arrested by the Kotwali police while three are still at large in the murder case.
