Isn't it baffling that the country is in a state of emergency, and the prime minister is off to a summit? It makes little sense to me that at a time like this she has chosen to take a delegation of officers to have bilateral talks at the BIMST-EC Summit. The PM said that need-assessment of the post-flood rehabilitation was being carried out and that the government would take necessary steps and seek foreign assistance based on the requirements. People are willing to help, but somehow the flood victims have to guess and see what the death toll needs to be for the government to take the necessary steps!
