Bangladesh 3rd in SAARC Golf

Bangladesh finished second runner up in the Sixth SAARC Golf Championship held in Lahore, Pakistan recently. Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka in stroke play to secure the third position. India clinched the title while hosts Pakistan become the bridesmaid. Nepal became fifth while Bhutan finished last in the six team meet. Maldives was the only absentee among the seven SAARC member nations. Sri Lanka however lifted the ladies' event title and Pakistan finished runner up. The next SAARC Golf Cham-pionship will be held in Sri Lanka in 2005.
