Workers protest move to turn BTTB into public limited company

Bangladesh Telejogajog Sramik Karmachari Parishad protested the move to transform Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board (BTTB) into a public limited company.The Parishad leaders threatened to launch a tough movement if the government does not refrain from implementing such move. At a meeting held at the Ramna Telephone Bhaban recently, the leaders also demanded immediate supply of adequate accessories to the field workers to keep telecommunication systems working during the current flooding. They also announced protest programmes to be held across the country on August 22. A Malek Majumder presided over the meeting.
