Clues to July 12 bomb attack on police van found

Jessore Kotwali Police have claimed to have found the clues to bomb attack on a police van in front of Jessore education board on July 12. The Officerin-Charge (OC) of Kotwali police station told this correspondent, the mystery was unearthed following a confessional statement of four arrested persons on Wednesday. A contingent of Kotwali police arrested Shafiqul, Tuhin, Suzzal and Bakul after a raid on Sheikhati village situated on the outskirts of Jessore town. They confessed their involvement in the bomb attack. According to their confessional statement, police arrested Munna of Banargati area in Khulna from his rented house belonging to Iqbal Fakir of Sheikhati village. Five and a half kilograms of explosives were recovered from their possession. Police produced the arrested persons before a first class magistrate's court where Shafiqul and Bokul made their confessional statement under Section 164. Police prayed for five days' remand for Munna, Suzzal and Tuhin. The magistrate granted three days' remand for the three. Police will interrogate the remanded persons about their involvement in killing Zannat Pervin, Lecturer of Talbaria Degree College on July 25.
