One to die, 2 get life term for murder

One person was condemned to death and two others were sentenced to life term rigorous imprisonment (RI) in a murder case by a court here on Thursday.Rahim Akon,38, was condemned to death while Shahjahan Rari, 42, and Ismail Rari were awarded life term imprisonment. The Judge of Second Additional District and Sessions Judge Court, Barisal, S M Quddus Zaman also fined each of the jailed convict Tk 1,000, in default, to suffer one month RI. The convicts attacked the house of Mafez Rari at Darir Char of Khazuria village in Mehendiganj upazila on October 11, 1999 in a dispute over a fish firm enclosure. Mafez, Yunus Rari, Wazed and Saiful Rari were seriously injured in the attack. Yunus died at Mehendiganj hospital the same day. Mafez Rari lodged a murder case was against them with Mehendiganj police station.
