According to an official itinerary, Mark Malloch Brown is also expected to meet indigenous leader Jyotirindra Bodhipriya Larma, chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council, and some leaders of non-indigenous community during his daylong stay.

The top UNDP official is due to visit Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Facility field office in the town, which is implementing a one-year UNDP-funded pilot project titled 'Promotion of Develop-ment and Confidence Building' in the conflict-torn hilly region, it added.

Local administration took necessary security measures for his visit, sources said.
