Cancel lease with Thai Airways on airport:Ctg mayor

Chittagong City Corporation Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury yesterday demanded cancellation of the agreement under which Shah Amanat International Airport in the port city was leased out to Thai Airways. "This (lease) is a serious threat to the country's security… the establishments of Air Force are situated on one side and the Naval establishments on the other side of the airport. The security of the two forces will be threatened if the airport is leased out to any foreign oraganisation," he told a rally. The rally at the Steel Mill Bazar was organised by Chittagong Sammilita Birodhi Dal, a conglomeration of 14 opposition parties.
