58 arms recovered, 91 arrested in Khagrachhari

The security forces of Guimari region, in separate raids, arrested 91 criminals and recovered 58 arms, huge ammunition and drugs in last seven months.Official sources said the law enforcers raided different areas in the region and arrested 18 people along with 22 arms in January, 8 with 7 arms in February, 8 with 3 arms in March, 15 with 10 arms in April, 33 with 11 arms in May, 6 with 2 arms in June, 3 with 3 arms in July. The recovered arms and ammunition included revolver, gun, pistol, rifle, pipe-gun, SBBL gun, LG and 500 bullets. They also seized huge quantum of wine, phensidyl syrup and ganja. The sources said most of the arrested are the activists of UPDF and JSS of the region. They said after the drive and recovery of arms and ammunition the law and order situation in the region has improved to a great extent.
