390 bottles of phensidyl seized


Detective Branch of police arrested a man along with 390 bottles of Indian phensidyl from the Surma river "kheyaghat" at Kadamtali on Friday night.

The arrested was identified as Ayaj Ali, 45, son of late Wazed Ali of Madarkhal village in Jakiganj upazila.

Police said, on secret information, they raided the area and recovered the phensidyl worth about Tk 1 lakh. Ayaj was carrying the phensidyl in a boat. His two accomplices, however, managed to escape.
