Bangladesh open campaign today

Bangladesh launch their AFC Under-17 Football Championship campaign today when they take on Uzbekistan in their Group D opener at Fukushima in Japan.The Bangladesh under-17 side left Dhaka on Thursday after having a one-year intensive preparation under the supervision of Shahidur Rahman Shantoo, the former national goalkeeper. They will play their second match against Qatar on September 7 and then the last group match against Iraq on September 9. Bangladesh entered the 16-team final round beating Kyrgyzstan in both home and away matches at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur in October last year.
