Bashar to have op on Monday

Bangladesh cricket captain Habibul Bashar will undergo surgery on his injured right thumb on Monday at the Avenue Hospital of Melbourne in Australia.Specialist surgeon Dr. Greg Hoy will perform the 40-minute operation on the Bangladesh skipper, who left Dhaka on Thursday night. Bashar, the country's premier Test batsman, sustained the injury during the Tigers' training camp for the Champions Trophy at the Bangabandhu National Stadium last month. He is expected to return home within four days of the operation.
