At a rally on the campus, the students also demanded compensation for Tamanna Islam, a first year postgraduate student of zoology department.

The general students submitted a memorandum to the college principal to meet their demands.

They brought out a procession protesting the activities of JCD on the campus and the dormitories.

Acting convenor of college unit JCD Selina Sultana Nishita, along with her cadres, beat Tamanna severely for refusing to meet a male friend on Tuesday last.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Chhatra League President Liaqat Sikder and Acting General Secretary Saifuzzaman Shekhor, in a statement, protested the torture of Tamanna by JCD cadres and demanded punishment to the culprits.

Samajtantrik Chhatra Front also protested the incident.
