Kader Siddiqui meets Hasina

Bangladesh Krishak Sramik Janata League (BKSJL) President Kader Siddiqui yesterday called on Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina at her Sudha Sadan residence.

After about 20-minute meeting with Hasina, Kader told journalists that he came to meet Hasina to protest the deadly attacks of August 21 that killed at least 19 people and wounded several hundred.

"Everybody should do so because it was an attack against humanity by beasts. I came straight from the airport to meet the opposition leader. Now is the time to take decision whether we will do politics with the anti-liberation forces or fight them," Kader said.

BKSJL General Secretary Fazlur Rahman, Kader's wife Nasreen Siddiqui, his children and other party leaders were present.

This was the first meeting between Sheikh Hasina and Kader Siddiqui after he had left the AL and floated BKSJL in 1999.
