President seeks French help to solve flood problem


President Iajuddin Ahmed yesterday said France could cooperate with Bangladesh in solving its flood problem on a long-term basis apart from investing in agro-based industries and tourism sector.

The president made the remarks when outgoing French Ambassador to Bangladesh Michel Lummaux called on him at Bangabhaban.

Iajuddin also appreciated Michel Lummaux for his contributions to promoting bilateral relations between Bangladesh and France.

The outgoing envoy thanked the president for receiving him and appreciated Bangladesh's steady economic growth and development in various sectors. The envoy hoped that France-Bangladesh bilateral cooperation would grow further in future.
