Yasmin Killing Case
Another convict to walk gallows tomorrow

Amrita Lal, the third policeman sentenced to death in the sensational Yasmin rape and murder case of Dinajpur, will be hanged in Rangpur Central Jail at 12:01am tomorrow.

All preparations have been taken to execute the death sentence. Jail officials, doctors and the representatives of district and police administrations will be present during the execution.

Earlier on September 1, his two fellow convicts--former assistant sub-inspector Moinul Hoque and former constable Abdus Sattar--were hanged in the same jail.

Amrita Lal, a former constable and van driver, was not hanged with the other two as a mercy petition of his father was under consideration of the president at that time. After rejection of the petition, the jail authorities fixed the date and time to execute the sentence.
