Community centre authorities asked Shawkat Bepary, organiser of the function and a resident of Mahi's constituency, to drop the BDB leader's name from the guest list of his daughter's marriage party.

Mahi said he did not attend the occasion after Shawkat informed him about the matter. "I don't know why I was not allowed. As a lawmaker, I have the right to attend any social event," he added.
