Among the injured, Munir Hussein, a second year student of Accountancy Department and Md Nazmul, a third year student of Sociology Department were admitted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) in a critical condition.

Jahangir Alam, a third year honours student of Sociology Department, climbed on a bus, going to Barisal from Madaripur. When he was 'harassed' by bus supervisor Rezaul over student's concession, he informed the matter to his fellow students over mobile phone. Agitated students rushed and started a clash with transport workers.
