Veron burgler jailed

A burglar who broke into the London home of football star Juan Sebastian Veron and terrorised his family with a machete was jailed for life on Tuesday. Veron, who was playing for Chelsea at the time and is currently with Inter Milan in Italy, was in his house at the time of the raid. The intruder, 36, threatened the family with the weapon before making off with thousands of pounds worth of jewellery.
