Janajuddho kills two party men for 'spying'

Janajuddho, an outlawed party, killed two of its party men in the early hours yesterday for their alleged involvement with the police and 'class enemy'.

The slain were identified as Kafil Uddin of village Latidanga and Abdur Rahim of Jugirhuda of Alamdanga upazila.

According to police, about 10 armed Janajuddho outlaws went to the house of Kafil Uddin. As Kafil opened the door, the operatives tied up his hands and eyes and dragged him out. Then the gang went to the house of Rahim and picked him up in the same way.

Both were then taken to Ramnagar field and slaughtered. Later, one Pavel, introducing himself as a regional leader of the outfit, claimed responsibility for the killing saying the slain Janajuddho men were recently ignoring party guidelines and passing secret information to the class enemies including police.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Chuadanga sadar upazila for autopsy. A case was filed with Alamdanga Police Station.

With this incident, the law and order situation further worsened in Chuadanga. According to data available here from police record and newspaper reports, at least 153 people were killed in last nine months in Chuadanga alone, which is higher than in any other districts of the southwestern region.
