Missing business magnate: Three remanded

Three persons arrested by Kotwali police on Friday in connection with mysterious missing of business magnate Md Habibur Rahman were placed on three-day remand by a magistrate court here on Saturday.

They are victim's nephew and one of his reliable employees, Emad, other nephew Ashok and his driver Manzurul Islam.

The case was transferred to Detective Branch (DB) of police following 'police failure' in tracing the business magnate, missing from his house in Shahjalal Upashahar area for the last seven days.

Inspector Shafiqul Alam became the Investigation Officer of the case.

Victim's brother Rafique Uddin had filed a case with Sylhet Kotwali Thana on Thursday. He also filed a General Diary (GD) on October 18.

Victim's wife received an unknown call over telephone on Tuesday. Unidentified callers told her that her husband had been in good shape.

However, the victim's family members are much worried about his fate.

Habibur had been missing since October 17 night when he went to his second wife's house at House No 66, Road No 3, Block No E in the satellite town.
