Security guards hurt in attack by BNP-backed hoodlums

A security guard at state-owned Sundarban Textile Mills here was injured seriously as a group of BNP backed hoodlums allegedly led by the mill's CBA President Abdullah Sardar and general secretary Gazi Abdul Hafiz attacked workers and employees on Saturday. The attack followed 'no-confidence' by workers and employees against the CBA leaders, passed at a special general meeting held on Friday on the mill premises, mill sources said. The hoodlums entered the mill forcibly and attacked the workers and empl;oyees. Security guards came under attack as they tried to resist the hoodlums. Security guard Yahiya Khan was seriously injured while other guards received minor injuries. Police rushed to the spot and arrested three outsiders Mannan, Masum Billah and Farid. A tense situation is prevailing in the mill.
