15 smugglers hurt in shootout with BDR

At least 15 of a gang of smugglers were inured in gunfight with BDR at Munshiganj border in Daulatpur upazila in the district on Saturday, BDR sources said. Acting on a tip-off, BDR personnel raided the area when a gang was smuggling in goods at about 4 am. BDR tried to encircle them. Sensing BDR presence, the gang opened fire triggering a shootout. At last 50 shot were traded. The injured smugglers managed to flee, some across the border, the sources said. The BDR seized smuggled goods about Tk 50,000.
