Test-by-Test at MA Aziz Stadium

The MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong plays host to the second Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand that gets underway today.

This will be the sixth match for the country's second Test venue since making its debut on November 15, 2001 when Zimbabwe played here.

The highest total on this ground belongs to the southern African team which scored 542-7 declared while the lowest is 138 by Bangladesh against England last year.

In the inaugural Test three batsmen made centuries (Andy Flower 114 not out, Craig Wishart 114 and Trevor Gripper 112).

But South Africa's Jacques Rudolph and stylish Pakistani Yousuf Youhana hold the distinction of completing unbeaten double hundreds respectively. Youhana was 204 not out while Rudolph's defiant 222 was extra special as it was made on the southpaw's debut.

Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar is the only local player in the magical three-figure club.

In the bowling records Paul Adams is the player to have taken 10 wickets in a match.

Following are some interesting statistics on Test matches played at the venue:
