7 Indians held by BDR near Sherpur border

Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) arrested seven Indians from Harirkona border area in Shreebardi upazila in Sherpur district Saturday night.They are Dendos Walsi Sangma, 32, Gourab Marak, 30, Relif M Sanmgma, 29, Satid Sangma, 30, Ratan Sangma, 25, Bikram, 22 and Ananda Hajong 22. Police said the arrested persons told them that they are from Kalkakra, Jangpara, Alaldri, Britasingh and Murkul villages in Tora district in India and entered Bangladesh through border pillar No. 1092. Tipped off, BDR personnel from 39 Battalion arrested them from the village, about 50 yards from the border. BDR handed over them to the Shreebardi police, who produced them before court. The court sent them to jail, police said.
