Allegation against DIG Prison proved

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG-Prison) at Jessore Central Jail took several abortive attempts to sexually abuse a female jail warden . This was disclosed by advocate M A Ansari, a member of a five-member investigation team of Bangladesh Human Rights Implementation Committee on Saturday. Meanwhile, 10 jail guards including Reserve Habilder Abdul Khalaque Bepari and jail warden Bhaboranjan were suspended on charge of assisting the DIG in his immoral activities, according to Acting Senior Superintendent of Jessore Jail Magistrate Bazlur Rahman. Most often DIG (Prison) Sarder Abdus Salam in collaboration with some jail guards used to call good-looking jail warden Razia Sultana to his official residence in a bid to rape her. However, DIG (Prison) supported jail guards led by Reserve Habilder Abdul Khaleque Bepari brought out a procession in favour of the DIG (Prison) inside the central jail. The processionists created a chaotic situation inside the prison. At one stage police had to intervene to quell the situation. After an investigation, Acting Senior Superintendent suspended the ten prison guards.
