A teenage boy died from injuries at a city hospital yesterday, a day after he was beaten up by a mob in Arambagh area. When fourteen-year-old Mohsin, an employee of Aparajeyo Bangla Dropout Centre, an NGO at Arambagh, came out of the office on Sunday morning, local people beat him up mistaking him for a thief, said Champa, one of his colleagues. The boy was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and he was released after first aid treatment. But as his condition deteriorated at his home, Mohsin was taken to the DMCH again at around 11:30am yesterday where the doctors declared him dead. Meanwhile, a mob beat up two alleged extortionists in Gulshan area yesterday. The two are Tomal Chandra Shil, 19, and Siddique Miah, 22. Claiming himself to be a hairdresser, Tomal told reporters at the DMCH that he was talking with Siddique at Mohakhali Sattola slum at around 10:00am when the mob attacked them.
