Local under-15s gain upper hand

Humayun Kabir led Bangladesh Under-15 cricket team from the front by taking five wickets as the home side bowled out CAB (Cricket Association of Bengal) Under-15s for 203 in the first innings of their three-day match at the BKSP ground yesterday.

At stumps on Day One, Bangladesh U-15s wiped out 39 of those runs without any loss. Tamim and Mithun were batting on 24 and 13 respectively.

After electing to bat, the touring U-15s, who have lost three one-day matches in succession, made a decent start. But skipper Kabir, who came in as the first change, picked five wickets for 93 from 32 overs to swing the match their way.

Moazzem gave the captain fine assistance with 3-50.

Opener Ipu Shaha made 42 and captain J Basu topscored with 43 for the visitors.
