'Outlaw' leader lynched

A regional leader of outlawed Purba Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-Janajuddha) was lynched on Monday night at Kakbashia village in Assassuni upazila. The outlaw is Raisuddin Rais, 35, son of Ahmed Ali of Chentia village in Assassuni upazila. A gang of outlaws went to extort Tk one lakh from the house of fish cultivator Rezaul Karim, according to police. When the family members cried for help, villagers rushed there and cordoned the house. As the gang tried to flee, villagers chased them and caught Rais. They beat and gouged out his two eyes. Later, he died and police recovered the body with a shutter gun and four rounds of bullets from the scene. A case was filed in this regard.
