Pak delegation

I have noted with great interest that a 60-member Pakistan delegation is visiting Bangladesh along with the new prime minister of Pakistan to explore more avenues of co-operation between the two countries.

But it is a matter of great regret that Pakistan''s policy towards Bangladesh citizens is not open. They are very much tight-fisted in issuing visas to Bangladeshi nationals.

For your information, the Pakistan Embassy here in Dhaka allows in a single day only 25 persons to apply for visa.

If Pakistan wants to improve co-operation with Bangladesh the visit of a high-level delegation alone will not change the situation. Pakistan''s visa policy towards Bangladesh citizens should be more liberal and open. This way bigger co-operation in all spheres of life will come up.
