FM hands over PM's letter to Bhutanese PM

Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan yesterday handed over a letter of Prime Minister Khaleda Zia to Bhutanese Prime Minister Lyonpo Yeshey Zimba inviting him to the forthcoming Saarc (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) summit in Dhaka January 9--11.Accepting the letter, the Bhutanese prime minister said he was looking forward to attending the summit of the regional forum. Khan also conveyed greetings of Prime Minister Khaleda Zia to her Bhutanese counterpart, foreign ministry sources said. The foreign minister later called on King Jigme Singe Wangchuk at the royal palace. During the meeting, King Wangchuck praised the role of Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in promoting peace and development in the region. Khan, on behalf of the prime minister, extended an invitation to the king to visit Bangladesh. The king expressed his willingness to pay a visit to Bangladesh at a convenient time.
