Barisal launch strike postponed

A launch strike on 28 routes from Barisal, which was scheduled to begin yesterday, has been postponed.The strike was called by Barisal Launch Workers Association demanding implementation of their pay scale declared in a gazette notification on June 3, 2004. The decision to postpone the strike was announced after an emergency meeting between the Launch Workers Association and the Launch Owners Association in Barisal in the early morning. The meeting was attended by Launch Workers Association President Golam Mawla and leaders of Launch Owners Association Alhaj Golam Mawla, Khorshed Alam and Anisuzzaman Kamal.
