Held at Garpara Bohumukhi High School, the memorial meeting was attended by people of all walks of life including leaders and workers of all political parties.

Speakers termed Patal, also Organising Secretary of Manikganj district unit of National Union Parishad Forum (NUPF) and General Secretary of Manikganj Sadar upazila unit of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Inu) as a honest leader. 'That is why people elected him chairman of the union twice', they said.

Headmaster of Garpara high school Tofazel Hossain Khan presided over the meeting. It was addressed, among others, by JSD president Hasanul Haque Inu, its joint secretary Iqubal Hossain Khan, former minister and Awami League (AL) leader Moslem Uddin Khan Habu Mia, convenor of Manikganj district unit of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad and BNP leader Golam Mohiar Khan Shiper, NUPF leader Samsul Alam Khan, 'Peer' of Garpara Imam Bari and President of Pak Ponjaton Parishad Shah Mokhlesur Rahman, Patal's widow Aloma Begum Momota, brother Atikul Hakim Khan and friend Shyamal Kumar.
