Hakim debuts as mega serial director

What is an actor's ultimate goal? Obviously putting in his or her best foot forward to create a space in people's hearts. But nowadays there has been a slight change in this trend: actors often don the role of a director. Among them is popular small-screen star Azizul Hakim with his mega serial Jol Porey Pata Norey. Scripted by his wife Zeenat Hakim, who has already earned credentials in this field, the mahurat of the serial was held at the Tajmahal Restaurant recently.Drama personalities, Abdullah Al Mamun, Mamunur Rashid, Dilara Zaman, Abdul Kader, Srabonti, Deepa Khondokar, Ratri, Sweetie and many other upcoming artistes were present on the occasion. 'Best wishes to the couple and especially to Azizul Hakim on his maiden venture,' said Mamunur Rashid. Shahed, Hillol, Toru Mostofa, Dilara Zaman, Abdul Kader, Sweety, Deepa Khondoker, Srabonti, Apon Ahsan and Azizul Hakim himself will act in the serial. The cast also has pretty new faces like Mridula Ahmed and Mishti. 'The plot is very entertaining and humorous and I wrote it especially for Hakim,' said Zeenat. The serial will be telecast on ATN Bangla from January 2005, said Hakim. 'I'm very happy to get the opportunity to direct Zeenat's script,' said an enthusiastic Azizul Hakim.
