The cabinet yesterday approved the formation of a cabinet committee to prepare recommendation for constituting the accreditation board after examining the draft of a new law, the Accreditation Act 2004.

With Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in the chair, the cabinet gave the approval at its weekly meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

The meeting discussed the draft of the Accreditation Act providing for forming the board that will "certify quality of products, laboratory tests, training in the training institutes and laboratory inspections", said an official handout.
