Body finally meets on strategy

Chittagong University's (CU) much-talked about committee formed to work out ways to cancel the doctored certificates yesterday met to set its strategy while only 18 days are left according to the timeframe.The meeting was held at the Pro Vice Chancellor's office yesterday afternoon with the committee chief Professor Dr M Shamsuddin in the chair. Members of the five-member committee--Professor Dr Sirajul Islam, Professor Quazi Mostain Billah, Professor Md Nurul Mostafa and Md Morshed Mahmud Khan were also present. "We have discussed the course of action that can not be revealed for the sake of investigation," said Professor M Shamsuddin, also the Pro VC of CU. "By next four days documents essential to finish the assignment of the committee will be collected," he said adding that without evaluating the official documents they could not take any action against around 2400 certificates that had allegedly been tampered with. He said the next meeting of the committee will be held on December 11. Earlier, the CU syndicate on November 9 formed the committee and asked to submit its report by December 23.
