AL, allies to announce agitation plan Dec 11

Leaders of the mainstream opposition parties will sit with Awami League (AL) chief and leader of the opposition Sheikh Hasina in a couple of days to finalise their next agitation programmes that is likely to be announced on December 11.Leaders of the AL, left leaning 11-party alliance, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) and National Awami Party (NAP) at the meeting in AL central office also discussed their preparations ahead of the December 11 human wall to show no-confidence on the alliance government. Senior leaders of the parties in separate teams will begin three-day mass contact programmes at different places on the 900-kilometre route of the human wall from tomorrow. The opposition parties will also hold four combined rallies in Comilla and Bogra on December 8, and Rangpur and Sitakunda on December 9. "Our preparations to make the human wall from Teknaf to Tentulia a success are going on very well," AL General Secretary Abdul Jalil told newsmen after the meeting. Presided over by Amir Hossain Amu, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Abdur Razzak, Rashed Khan Menon, Manjurul Ahsan Khan, Mujahidul Islam Selim, Bimal Biswas, Dilip Barua, Obaidul Quader, Syed Zafar Sazzad, Pankaj Bhattacharya and Abdus Samad.
