Tk 85 cr scheme to protect Bhola from erosion

The government has taken up a Tk 85 crore scheme to protect Bhola from erosion by the Meghna and the Tetulia.According to sources in the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB), under the scheme, cross dams will be constructed in different parts of the district to check river erosion. According to State Minister for Water Resources Goutam Chakro-borty, the plan is expected to be approved by ECNEC soon.
