PREVIEW: Premiership
It's Chelsea's for the taking
AFP, London
Leaders Chelsea welcome Norwich to Stamford Bridge on Saturday looking to build on their four-point advantage over second-placed Everton. The west London club have not won a top flight title since 1955 but after their 2-2 draw with capital city rivals and reigning champions Arsenal, Chelsea captain John Terry insisted there was no reason why they could not bring the title back to the Bridge. "I've been too close too often and I'm fed up with it now. I really want to win something this season, and the Premiership would be fantastic." Norwich may look like ideal opponents for Chelsea but despite still being involved in a relegation battle they came back twice against Bolton last week to record a morale-boosting 3-2 win. Arsenal meanwhile travel to Portsmouth on Sunday. Last season Pompey twice held the Gunners to 1-1 draws in the league including a match at Highbury where only Robert Pires's dive into the box earned the penalty that helped preserve Arsenal's 49-match unbeaten league run. Manchester United, after the disappointment of Monday's draw with Fulham, face Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. In the lead-up to the game Palace chairman Simon Jordan apologised to officials at United after labelling both the Red Devils and Arsenal as "bullshit worlds full of bullshit people". Jordan has insisted he meant no offence to his boardroom counterparts. And on Sunday their Merseyside rivals Liverpool face Newcastle in a fixture that has produced goal-laden thrillers over the past few seasons.
